Home / News / Celebrity News Jennifer Garner ordered way too many Scout cookies (and we totally get it) It's okay, she gave the extras to her Instagram followers. By Emily Glover March 2, 2019 Rectangle As a Girl Scout troop leader, Jennifer Garner helps teach important skills like decision making, money management—and how to up-sell those cookies to maximize profit. She also isn’t afraid to do some of the work herself, as evidenced by her Instagram posts over the last couple of years. Last year she shared a photo of herself selling cookies outside of a grocery store, and captioned the pic “Why yes, kind sir, we do have Thin Mints. #tistheseason #comeandgetem #whodoesntloveagirlscout” But the mama of three (including two active Girl Scouts, 12-year-old Violet, and 9-year-old Seraphina) didn’t stop there: She also found a loophole that enabled her to sell some cookies directly to Instagram followers. Following that post last year Garner told her Instagram followers that she’d bought a limited number of boxes to sell to any social media followers who “truly have no Girl Scout in [their] life”. She was sold out within minutes and this year she did it again, but didn’t even charge! “Hi, I’m a Girl Scout leader and I over-ordered,” she announced in her IG Stories on Friday. “Anyone who doesn’t have access to Girl Scouts — because clearly here in Los Angeles these people are overrun with Girl Scout cookies — I’m just going to send them to you.” Jen’s email inbox filled up quickly, and sadly, the cookies are now gone. Girl Scout cookies are clearly a big deal to Garner (so much so that she ordered way too many), not so much because she’s into stocking the house with sweets (she famously isn’t) but because she uses the cookies to impart some valuable marketing wisdom on her troops. “I’m the one telling the girls, you know, ‘Try to talk about the gluten-free because they’re a dollar more.’ Let’s have an upsell,” Garner said on Live with Kelly and Michael in 2016. This year, there is a new gluten-free variety for 2019, but it Garner is fresh out so you might want to check with your local Girl Scouts (and maybe even put in a standing order for next year).
