After debating whether she should share the heartbreaking news with fans, she decided to speak out to show other parents they don’t need to grieve alone. “Today I am 1-3,” she captioned a tearful photo of herself holding an ultrasound photo, referring to the statistic that one in three women will lose a pregnancy. “I debated posting this for the exact reason why it’s a silent struggle. I don’t want I’m sorry or sympathy. I just don’t want to feel alone. And I know I’m not.” Today I am 1-3. I debated posting this for the exact reason why itâs a silent struggle. I donât want Iâm sorry or sympathy. I just donât want to feel alone. And I know Iâm not. This unfortunately isnât my first loss. When I first found out I was pregnant I wanted to shout it from the rooftop but I know for reasons like this we have to wait. So because we donât tell many, we have to suffer silently…and suffering silently was my thing in the past, but itâs not now. For the women out there who have miscarried in the past and need support and a place to grieve their little one lost or to those in the thick of it like me who are currently grieving and in pain, let us all be there for each other. You donât need to feel alone and maybe thatâs me talking to myself but if you need a place to share, Iâm here for you…and all of us are (and guys too. We sometimes silence your voice because you feel bad to express how itâs made u feel so let this be a safe place for you too). And because I donât have all the words to say because Iâm knee deep in crying and trying to listen to God, my girlfriend @alittlebitfancy says them for me. But in her Words and her story on her loss. Itâs powerful and strong and those who have suffered a loss I truly feel u can heal reading her blog. I know for me it helped. Head over to her page. Her link is in the bio and also in my bio. I love you guys. #yourenotalone A post shared by Jana Kramer (@kramergirl) on Dec 9, 2017 at 10:35am PST The former One Tree Hill actress and Dancing With the Stars alum explained that this wasn’t her first miscarriage, and addressed the stigma around announcing your pregnancy in the first trimester. “When I first found out I was pregnant, I wanted to shout it from the rooftop, but I know for reasons like this we have to wait,” she wrote. “So because we don’t tell many, we have to suffer silently…and suffering silently was my thing in the past, but it’s not now.” Kramer—who has a 22-month-old daughter, Jolie Rae, with estranged husband, Mike Caussin—hopes that by speaking out, her story will comfort others experiencing infant loss. “For the women out there who have miscarried in the past and need support and a place to grieve their little one lost or to those in the thick of it like me who are currently grieving and in pain, let us all be there for each other,” she wrote. Kramer concluded her message by linking to a personal essay about miscarriage from her friend Kristen Brust’s blog, A Little Bit Fancy. Her post has over 9,000 comments from other women and men, many of whom are sharing their own stories of infant loss. We applaud Kramer for using her public platform to raise awareness about this important issue affecting mamas. Our thoughts go out to her and others who are impacted by miscarriage. #yourenotalone?
