Home / News / Celebrity News Why Kate Hudson named her daughter after her grandfather Her baby girl has a beautiful name. By Heather Marcoux October 3, 2018 Rectangle She announced her pregnancy on Instagram and now Kate Hudson has made an even bigger announcement through the platform: Her baby girl is finally here! ? Husdson and her boyfriend Danny Fujikawa (along with Hudson’s two sons, 7-year-old son Bingham and 14-year-old son Ryder) welcomed baby Rani Rose to the family on Tuesday, October 2. “We have decided to name our daughter Rani (pronounced Ronnie) after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa. Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly. To name her after him is an honor,” Hudson wrote. As a girl’s name, Rani (even when you include the other spelling, Ronnie) isn’t on the Social Security Administration’s list of top 1000 baby names, meaning it’s pretty rare. Rani will probably be the only Rani in her class down the road. Hudson says she and her daughter are both doing well after the birth, and are “happy as can be.”She writes: “Our family thanks you for all the love and blessings that have been sent our way and we send ours right back.” Back in April Hudson surprised fans by announcing her third pregnancy with a gender reveal video. “SURPRISE!!! ? If you’ve wondered why I’ve been so absent on my social channels it’s because I have never been more sick!” Hudson captioned the video. Congratulations to Kate and Danny! ?
