Home / Health & Wellness Here’s how Chrissy Teigen is advocating for herself during this pregnancy If there's one thing mamas can learn from her it's that being open about what's bothering you is vital. By Heather Marcoux September 8, 2020 Rectangle Her oldest is growing up and her youngest is growing inside her. That’s the reality for cookbook author, Twitter Queen and pregnant mama Chrissy Teigen these days. Teigen recently took to Instagram to explain how anxiety has been getting to her during this pregnancy so her oldest, 4-year-old Luna, got to help mom get an ultrasound to check on her new sibling before she headed off for her first sleepover. “As my little Luna embarks on her very first sleepover tonight, another little one makes some big growth moves of their own. all is well,” she wrote. data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-version="4" style=" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);"> “Before I’m able to start feeling the kicks, the anxiety gets the best of me and any little bits of spotting or pain freak me ouuuuuut. One day I swear I’ll buy one of these machines but by then I’ll be all done with having monsters!” Most moms can’t have an ultrasound machine wheeled into their home like it seems she did so Teigen’s moment isn’t exactly relatable but her feelings are. Her pregnancy headaches are also (unfortunately) relatable to many mamas. On Twitter, Teigen recently explained how she’s fighting this pregnancy symptom with Botox. “I get really really bad pregnancy headaches,” Teigen tweeted. “Was thrilled to be cleared to do neck muscle Botox along with a crazy combo of beta blocker shots and radio wave frequency something something doctor terms. Anyhow man it’s just so bad but I see the light finally.” When fellow mamas chimed in to say that their doctors wouldn’t give them Botox during pregnancy Teigen said, “Yeah if you have the means to go to a neurologist instead of cosmetic it’s a lot better and safer because they talk to your OB.” Teigen’s got the means to go to whatever doctor she wants and have any doctor come to her, but even if you don’t have her wealth you can still talk to your medical providers about any stress or uncomfortable symptoms you might have (you might not get Botox for headaches or an ultrasound machine delivered to your house to quell anxiety, but you will get help). If there’s one thing mamas can learn from Teigen it’s that being open about what’s bothering you is vital. Don’t be afraid to speak up, mama.
