Home / News / Celebrity News Reese Witherspoon just doesn’t get TikTok in this new viral video Same, girl. Same. By Zara Hanawalt September 30, 2019 Rectangle If you’ve found yourself wondering what in the world “TikTok” is, you’re not alone: Reese Witherspoon is every bit as confused by the new social media trend teens are loving…and she’s showing off a lesson on the technology that screams “relatable!” Reese shared a video of herself enlisting her son, Deacon, to teach her about the new craze. “Deacon, this is very important. I brought you here because I have questions for you…For all the moms out there, what is TikTok?” data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-version="4" style=" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);"> Deacon goes on to explain that TikTok is short-form video social media platform, and agrees when his famous mom asks him to help her make a TikTok video. What comes next is hilarious: Reese goes through a series of dance moves and shares some footage of herself filming a reel for her very first TikTok video. She even asks her son for help in choosing her handle for the platform, offering up “Reese Tik, Reese Tok and Reese to the Tik to the Tok” up as suggestionsânone of them met her son’s approval, though. #Relatable. Honestly, we feel this so hard. Not just because we were every bit as confused as Reese regarding what exactly TikTok is (props to the actress for taking one for the mom team and getting us an answer!), but also because that loving-yet-slightly-embarrassed reaction she earned from her teen son? Yeah, we’ve all been there. Followers are loving the video as much as we are. “This is so good. Please teach me how to raise such well-behaved kids,” one Instagram commenter writes. Mindy Kaling weighs in as well, writing, “I’ve watched this nine times. You are so funny. I can’t believe how polite your son is.” Us, too! Another commenter just totally nails what we’re all thinking: “I want a TikTok session too! @reesewitherspoon thank you for uncovering the mystery of TikTok for all of us too embarrassed to ask,” she writes.
