By Jamie Orsini January 25, 2021 Amy Schumer/Instagram Rectangle It looks like we weren’t the only ones inspired by Jennifer Lopez’s inauguration performance. Amy Schumer just shared an Instagram video of her son’s bedtime routine where the comedian channels J.Lo. In the video, Schumer and her husband, Chris Fischer, are getting their 1-year-old son, Gene, ready for bed. Gene is wiggling on his changing table while Fischer changes him and Schumer hums a gentle lullaby. Suddenly, Schumer breaks out into song, belting, “let’s get loud,” from Jennifer Lopez’s 2000 hit of the same name. Schumer then seamlessly switches back to humming that lullaby. data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-version=”4″ style=” background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% – 2px); width:calc(100% – 2px);”> In case you missed it when Lopez performed at the presidential inauguration last week, she sang a medley of “This Land Is Your Land” and “America the Beautiful”. She also slipped in a callback to her song, “Let’s Get Loud,” after cheering, “one nation, under God. Indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,” in Spanish. It was a moment that had the internet talking and apparently, caught Schumer and baby Gene’s attention. Schumer’s lullaby performance has already earned the J.Lo stamp of approval. The superstar entertainer shared Schumer’s video to her Instagram, adding, “Sing it, @amyschumer!!!” and “LOL.” Jennifer Lopez/Instagram Lopez, who is mom to twins Emme Maribel and Maximillian David, gets it. When it comes to entertaining or calming your kids, you do whatever works. And it clearly worked. Gene was kicking his little legs before and after his mom’s J.Lo tribute. But during? That’s when Gene calmed down and stared contentedly at his mama. The next time your little one gets a case of the wiggles, you might want to copy one of the coolest moms on the Internet and bust into your favorite J.Lo song.
