By Christina Marfice January 9, 2024 Jason Mendez/Getty Rectangle Lindsay Lohan has grown up and come full circle since her Mean Girls days. Instead of being the teen girl positioning herself for a spot in the cool “Plastics” clique at school, she now just wants to be a “cool mom” to her son, Luai, who she welcomed last summer. The original Cady Heron attended the premiere of the Mean Girls musical film in New York this week, where she talked to reporters about how her life has changed since she starred in the cult classic film 20 years ago. Now 37 years old, she’s more focused on raising Luai than throwing ragers, and when one reporter asked her if she identifies as a “cool mom,” she jokingly replied, “I hope so.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by People Magazine (@people) While Lohan has been dipping her toe back into acting in the last couple of years, she mostly enjoys a quieter life these days than she did when she was an A-list starlet. She now lives in Dubai, where she’s said she enjoys a lower profile than she did in the U.S., where she was constantly recognized. I really love structure, because I didn’t think I had that when I was young.” And it sounds like motherhood suits Lohan just fine. Last year, her mom, Dina Lohan, opened up to People magazine about what it’s been like to see her daughter become a mom. “To watch my oldest daughter with her beautiful son is a memory engraved in my heart forever,” Dina said. “Lindsay took to her best role ever so naturally…she was always meant to be a mother.” Related: ‘Mean Girls’ cast reprises their roles for amazing Walmart holiday ad She continued, “God has truly blessed us all with lil Luai. As I held Luai, tears of happiness rolled down my cheeks. Badar [Shammas] took to the role of daddy like a pro as well. They are a perfect team.” Sounds like it doesn’t matter if she’s a cool mom — Lohan is clearly a loving mom, and that’s what matters.
