By Deena Campbell March 18, 2020 Carly Boyd Rectangle As we fight this pandemic through various social distancing policies, more and more people are finding inspiring ways to bring back a touch of normality to our lives. That’s exactly what Carly Boyd tried to do when she got engaged to her boyfriend, Trevor Sellers over the weekend. When it happened she immediately told her friends and family, but she wondered how she would show her ring to her grandfather, who is confined in his nursing home due to the coronavirus. And that’s when it hit her—if she can get to his window, she can hold up her ring and show him from the outside in. As the Southeastern Community College student held up her right hand, her grandfather saw the ring and then placed his right hand on the window, over her hand. “It was very special,” Boyd told KOLD. “I just put my hand on the window, and he put his there too. I just told him I love him, and he said, ‘I love you, too, and I hope to see you soon,’ like really see you.” According to KOLD, Boyd will be getting married next year, and she hopes her grandfather will be there to see her walk down the aisle.
