Home / Entertainment / What To Watch A whole new ‘Blue’s Clues’ is coming back to Nickelodeon Nickelodeon It’s coming back on the air in 2019. By Annamarya Scaccia March 9, 2018 Nickelodeon Rectangle Thanks to my younger sister, “Blue’s Clues” was on heavy rotation in my house when I was growing up, but it officially ended nine years before my son was born. He’s met the vintage Blue and Magenta through reruns, but soon he’ll be able to catch all-new episodes made for his generation. Nickelodeon announced this week that Blue’s Clues is coming back on the air in 2019, if not later this year. “With ‘Blue’s Clues,’ Nickelodeon launched what became TV’s first generation of interactivity for preschoolers and set the bar for quality, curriculum-driven shows we have made since,” Nickelodeon Group President Cyma Zarghami said in a press release, according to Parents. “The new, modern version of ‘Blue’s Clues’ will capture all the original’s creativity and visual identity for a whole new audience ready for its fun adventures and expertly designed problem-solving curriculum.” Deadline reports that Nickelodeon will reboot Blue’s Clues with a 20-episode run to start. The interactive show will have “refreshed signature look” that’s consistent with the original preschool classic, but will also feature entirely new production and animation. The network is also holding an open casting call for the coveted host role once held by Steve, then Donovan, who played his younger brother, Joe. But don’t expect a Steve or Joe look-alike: According to the casting notice, Nickelodeon is looking for men and women of all ethnicities, with a comedy and musical background, who can play 18 to 25 years old. The audition will take place in Burbank, California on April 14. Production for the Blue’s Clues reboot will begin this summer. But while you watch, your kiddos can catch the original on Noggin, Nick’s subscription-based video service, or on on-demand with your cable service. Related Stories Entertainment Is Wicked for kids?
