Maybe your summer trip is a lake house two hours away instead of the Amalfi Coast. The suitcase spiral is the same either way. You lay everything out, convince yourself you’ll need three backup outfits for “just in case,” and come home having worn a third of it.

Priscila Fadul has the same problem, just with a fancier zip code. She’s the Miami-based founder of skincare brand LENDAVA, mom to twin 4-year-olds and a 2-year-old, and this summer she’s traveling with all three through Sardinia, Forte dei Marmi, and St. Tropez. Her days often involve rooms with Dolce & Gabbana and Prada Beauty. Her nights involve wiping applesauce off a toddler. The packing math doesn’t change just because the backdrop is influencer-ready.

“I’m proud to say I’m not an overpacker,” Fadul says. “I only bring versatile, lightweight pieces that can be styled multiple ways.” Whether you’re headed to Europe or the Jersey shore, the goal is the same: clothes that survive sightseeing, the playground, beach days, and dinner, without a costume change between each one.

This summer that meant packing around 18 to 20 pieces total, built around a tight color palette of whites, creams, beiges, browns, and linen, with one or two seasonal accent colors. This year it’s red and orange. She skips black shoes and bags entirely in summer, and packs exactly one pair of heels. Everything else is built for walking, because with three kids in tow, she’s on her feet all day, often carrying snacks, sunscreen, or a child. (Or all three at once, of course.) That part, at least, is universal.

Her kids get the same treatment. Coordinated SPF swim sets during the day with cuter outfits reserved for dinner.

Her litmus test for what to pack is simple. “If I can’t style something multiple times, it doesn’t make it into my suitcase,” she says. Dresses get restyled with accessories, shirts double as beach cover-ups, sandals go from cobblestones to dinner reservations, or in more average cases, from the airport to the backyard.

Fewer choices in the suitcase means fewer meltdowns before 9am, hers or theirs. “Trust me, the less I pack, the more I actually enjoy the trip,” she says. “A well-edited wardrobe means less decision fatigue, and more time focusing on making memories instead of figuring out what to wear.”

Fadul and her family have been traveling internationally with their kids since they were babies, and the biggest shift hasn’t been in what she packs, it’s in what she expects. “In the beginning, I feel like every mom tends to pack for every possible scenario, and always came home realizing half the suitcase had never been touched,” she says. “Now I pack fewer, better pieces, focus on comfort, and keep our itinerary flexible enough to follow the kids’ pace.”

The bigger surprise, she says, was how well her kids handled the unpredictability. “We often assume they need a perfect routine to be happy, but I’ve found that as long as they feel safe, well-rested, and included in the adventure, they adjust incredibly well. That shifted my mindset from trying to create the ‘perfect’ trip to simply being present and enjoying it with them.” Also true if your version of adventure is a rest stop and a bag of goldfish.
