Inside this article Understanding Disney's guidelines Essentials for every Disney trip Disney World Packing List for Babies and Toddlers Disney World Packing List for Kids If you’ve landed on this page, you’re more than likely seeking some inspiration for your Disney World packing list for your kids. Whether you’re traveling to Walt Disney World with a three-month-old or a fourteen-year-old, it is an enormous undertaking. After all, you’re likely spending thousands of dollars to experience the magic of the property’s four theme parks and two water parks as well as the countless restaurants and shops. While vacation may be relaxing, it is important to prepare to ensure your trip will be as seamless and magical as possible. First thing’s first. When creating your Disney World packing list for kids, keeping an eye on the weather is pivotal to packing all of the right items and leaving what you don’t need at home. Understanding Disney’s guidelines When preparing for your upcoming travels, it’s also important to be knowledgeable about what you can and cannot bring into the theme parks. One of the most critical regulations to be aware of when traveling with children who use strollers is the required measurements. Strollers greater than 31 inches in width and 52 inches in length are not allowed into the theme parks nor are stroller wagons. Essentials for every Disney trip In addition to creating your Disney World packing list for kids, there are other items that can be added to your pre-arrival checklist including purchasing tickets and making theme park reservations. Theme park reservations are required and theme park availability changes daily according to the calendar. It is recommended to purchase your theme park tickets and reserve your park reservations earlier than later to secure a spot at the parks of your choice. Related: This mom’s hilarious ‘realistic day at Disneyland’ TikTok video is so spot-on The Magicband and Magicband+ are popular items at the Walt Disney World Resort. Although they are not required to have a fun-filled vacation, they do make a lot of things easier including scanning into the theme parks, scanning in for Genie+ or Lightning Lane time frames, and opening the door to your Walt Disney World hotel room. We also recommend downloading the MyDisneyExperience App to a smartphone to check wait times, entertainment offerings, park hours, and make dining reservations–this app will be of great service during your trip. If you plan on purchasing the Disney Genie+ service to experience shorter wait times for certain attractions, you can do so at midnight the day of your visit and select the attractions you’d like to start your day with starting at 7 a.m. To help expedite your Disney World packing process, we’ve developed a list of what we recommend packing for babies as well as what we recommend packing for kids. Read on for our must-have trip essentials that can consider packing. SHOP MONICA + ANDY Colugo Compact Stroller • $325 A lightweight, easy-to-maneuver stroller is clutch for a Disney trip and while there are tons of styles out there, the slick Colugo Compact stroller gets our vote. The ride is incredibly smooth and unlike some travel strollers, it can fully recline. It also features a generous UV canopy and storage basket and comes with a carry backpack, rain cover and cup holder (which most brands require you to purchase separately.) Appropriate from 6 months old to a max weight of 55 pounds, the Colugo also has an infant kit ($95.00) available here. And, if your child gets hungry throughout the day, they can easily feed themselves using its included snack tray. SHOP AMAZON SHOP JOOVY Muffy Baby Noise Canceling Headphones • $27.99 To call the Disney parks overstimulating would be the understatement of the century. If your little one has sensitivity to noise, packing a pair of noise-canceling headphones is a great idea. This particular pair, from the Alpine Hearing Protection Store—a leader in quality hearing protection based in The Netherlands—are a top pick for babies given their adjustable, comfortable design. They also come with a convenient carry bag and are available in a range of colors. With a UPF of more than 50, and flaps to keep their neck covered as well, this hat blocks between 97.5 and 99% of UV radiation. It’s also beloved for its customized sizing and chin tie which helps keep it on better than other styles. SHOP AMAZON Babiators Unbreakable Sunglasses • $32 Speaking of sun protection, you’ll probably want to toss in a pair of shades for your babe as well. While there are a lot to choose from, Babiators are our go-to brand not only because they’re indestructible and impossibly stylish, but their guarantee is top-notch. If they are damaged or lost within the first year, they’ll replace them for free. Yes, you read that right–even if they’re lost! SHOP BABIATORS Babyganics Sanitizing Wipes Pack of 4 • $11 When there’s a lot to touch and a lot of people touching things, sanitizing wipes are indispensable. We’re partial to the citrus-scented, travel-ready wipes from Babyganics. They’re gentle but effective and have a far more pleasant smell than pretty much every other version out there. SHOP AMAZON Rainleaf Microfiber Towel • $10.99 Whether or not getting wet is part of the plan, having a packable, quick-dry towel has saved us more than once. After all, you never know when you might encounter an irresistible splash pad! (Once you smugly pull this out to dry off a shivering kid, you’ll wonder how you ever left the house without it.) The affordable option from Rainleaf takes up very little space and can double as a changing pad as well. SHOP AMAZON Hatch Rest Go Portable Sound Machine • $34.99 For on-the-go naps, you can’t beat a portable white noise machine. Our current favorite is the recently released Rest Go from Hatch. The compact and impressively powerful design can be dangled from the stroller or baby carrier for a soothing soundscape no matter where you are. And not only does it feature an array of high-quality sounds like heartbeat, ocean and classic white noise (among others), it also can last up to 15 hours on one charge. SHOP HATCH SHOP AMAZON Ergobaby All Carry Positions Breathable Mesh Baby Carrier • $199 If you’d prefer to carry your baby instead of pushing them in a stroller, this mesh baby carrier can help. Since it’s made from mesh, it’ll keep both you and your baby cool while you position them in nearly any way that feels comfortable for you both whether that be outward, inward, or resting on your side. If you plan on using a baby carrier, support is essential and this one offers plenty thanks to its padded shoulder straps and padded lumbar area. SHOP AMAZON SHOP ERGOBABY Munchkin Snack Catcher® Toddler Snack Cups (2-Pack) • $6.00 The ubiquitous Munchkin Snack Catchers are a travel must-have no matter where you’re headed. (But especially when traveling to a place where buying a meal costs about the same as a mortgage payment.) Although these containers are made from plastic, they are BPA-free which is a bonus considering they will be exposed to heat nearly all day when you’re at the parks. (Looking for more options? Find out about our other favorite snack containers!) SHOP AMAZON Sun Bum Mineral SPF 50 Sunscreen Face Stick • $11.39 Despite the high UV indexes Florida often experiences, there are ways you can keep your children’s skin safe which include the frequent use of sunscreen. This mineral sunscreen face stick from Sun Bum offers SPF 50 and is water resistant for up to 80 minutes. It’s also fragrance-free which is good for keeping a baby’s sensitive skin protected. It’s easy to apply by swiping the stick across their face–they will barely feel it. SHOP SUN BUM SHOP AMAZON AMACOOL Battery-Operated Stroller Fan • $23.99 Although it’s unlikely you’ll be able to keep your baby completely comfortable while you traverse through Disney World’s theme parks, this stroller fan will help them feel cooler during your visit. Its flexible legs are easily able to attach to most strollers and the fan’s head can easily be repositioned depending on which direction your baby is facing. Regardless of whether your baby prefers a lighter breeze or a more powerful one, you can select which of the fan’s three speeds feels best. When it comes time to charge the battery, it can be done with a USB output. SHOP AMAZON J.L. Childress Disney Baby Full Body Changing Pad • $12.99 If you’d prefer to change your baby on something other than the changing tables located in many restrooms on the property, consider buying this full-body changing pad for your trip. Since it’s foldable, it can be comfortably placed in the storage areas of many strollers until the next use without taking up too much space. Plus, it’s Mickey Mouse-themed–what’s better than that? SHOP AMAZON Disney World Packing List for Kids Monica and Andy Mickey and Minnie Slouch Tees • $20 A Disney-themed tee is practically a park mandate! SHOP MONICA + ANDY AGMZ Waterproof Air Tag Bracelet for Kids (2-Pack) • $14.99 Although a waterproof Air Tag bracelet may appear to be a bit excessive, we can never be too overbearing when it comes to keeping tabs on our kids–especially at places as crowded as Disney World. All you have to do is connect an Air Tag to your phone, place the air tag on the bracelet’s whole, securely fasten the bracelet around your child’s wrist, and you’ll be ready to go. It’s important to note that this pack of bracelets does not come with the Apple Airtags pre-placed in the bands–you’ll need to purchase them separately. SHOP AMAZON TempToo Safety ID Tattoos • $10.99 Similarly, these custom temporary tattoos will give you a little extra peace of mind–particularly for kids who are too young to be able to recite their phone number. You can choose from a variety of information options as well as their favorite Disney character. SHOP ETSY Totes Unisex Kids Rain Poncho • $7 It’s best practice to pack a rain poncho when heading to Disney World as Florida has a tendency to experience rain more often than not especially during the summer. (And they’re far cheaper to buy and bring than to purchase inside the park!) SHOP AMAZON CleverMade Pacifica Collapsible Cooler Bag • $39.99 When a PB&J seemingly costs as much as a Waygu steak, bringing in your own food is a huge money saver. That said, if you’re flying in for your trip, traveling with a cooler isn’t exactly easy. Fortunately this highly-rated style from CleverMade collapses flat to conveniently slip into your luggage. It’s also spacious enough for a day’s worth of food so you can pack it up in the morning and keep the kids happy and fed without having to head back to the hotel and refresh. SHOP AMAZON O2COOL Deluxe Handheld Battery Powered Water Misting Fan • $11.88 If you’re looking for a way to keep an older child cool, this is it. All this water misting fan requires is two AA batteries and it’s set to start using. Whether they’d like to spray a spritz of water on their face, blow some cool air, or both, this fan can help keep them comfortable all throughout the day. SHOP AMAZON Mission Original Cooling Towel • $14.99 Another keep cool hack we love comes courtesy of the innovative cooling towels from Mission. The personal sized microfiber towels help keep the whole family from overheating for up to two hours with just a bit of water and a snap. They also provide UPF 50 sun protection and can be reused again and again. SHOP AMAZON Speedo Kids' Tidal Cruiser Water Shoe • $25.42 If you’re heading to Disney’s Blizzard Beach or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water parks during your visit, your kid will thank you for bringing them these water shoes. They can slip them onto their feet when they want to go on the slides and attractions (or to the bathroom) and they dry quickly thanks to their mesh material. SHOP AMAZON SHOP SPEEDO Owala Kids Water Bottle • $14.99 Although a majority of Disney World quick-service locations hand out small cups of ice water upon request free of charge, it’s helpful to pack a kid’s water bottle so they can stay hydrated wherever they are as water cups are not allowed in most ride queues and attractions. The stainless steel Owala kids water bottles are perfect for long days since they keep drinks super cold for up to 24 hours and since it’s so easy to open and close, it’s one style we’ve never had empty into our bags. SHOP AMAZON Kodak Disposable Kodak Camera (3-Pack) • $56.21 Your kids are more than likely going to want to take some photos while on your visit and these disposable Kodak cameras can allow them to do just that without the risk of misplacing or breaking a phone or other expensive camera. Each camera can take up to 27 photos which you can have developed when you return home–this can serve as another family bonding activity after your trip to reminisce on the memories made.
