Home / formula feeding
Silent nights are hopefully in your future.
Kristy Carr, mom of three and founder of Bubs Australia and Aussie Bubs, is working 24/7 to get infant formula on store shelves safely—and in record time.
Your infant gets most of what they need from breastmilk or formula—but there are a few important exceptions.
Normalize breastfeeding, formula, bottle feeding and pumping. Or a combo of all. And most importantly: Normalize not shaming yourself for how you feed your baby.
Bottle feeding my baby made me a happier mom.
I had my heart set on exclusively breastfeeding, but as I've now seen, I know it's not the only "right" way to feed your little one.
And I would tell any new mother to do the same.
"I thought as a mental health professional myself, I would be more aware of what I was going though and of the impact it had on me, but I was so lost, so sucked into the pain and loneliness and suffering, that I couldn't see through the fog."
Why are all of our options so hard?
I was breastfeeding my daughter, and it was going well, but I did not feel like other mothers who describe the whole thing as an incredible bonding experience.
I'd been conditioned to think that since I was a woman, breastfeeding would be the most natural thing I've ever done. I forgot in all of this that all humans are different and that's part of the beauty of life.
Take a deep breath. It’s going to be okay.
