I can’t bring my children to the playground, so I’m bringing the playground to them

It was never in my plans to set up a full playground in our backyard. I was planning to add raised beds for me to grow vegetables as my new hobby after years of living in an apartment with no access to anything green. But here we are after seven months of a pandemic and I guess I have to give up my hobby and my space outdoors to my children because they definitely need it more than I do right now. You see, my toddler was used to going to the playground every single day . He had playground buddies, would know how to play in all the play sets and was starting to venture into the big kid side of the park. Then in March everything shut down and he hasn’t been on a swing since. We drive past one regularly and he always exclaims “PLAYGROUND!” with excitement, only to break my heart a little more about how this whole year has been a lot . We are not taking risks though. We cannot get sick. If one of us goes down with COVID-19 we all go down, we have no childcare and have 7-month-old twins. We are just not doing it. Instead, I decided to bring the playground to my house. They all need outdoor play, even as the days get colder. I want to encourage them to play outside all year round, and what better way to do that than with their own swing set.
Here’s what I’m getting:
Little Tikes play set

Climb-N-Crawl caterpillar tunnel

Kidkraft sandbox

Ekobo bamboo play set

iimo balance bike

Radio Flyer trike

Janod wheelbarrow
