Dad comes to daughter’s rescue with pads but hilariously misunderstands the assignment

What’s a dad to do when he’s told that his daughter just started her first period at school and needs a pads delivery? Well, according to this trending TikTok video, the correct response is to buy your daughter pads with wings. Both kinds of wings.

@k.othabarber is a TikTok dad who recently posted a video that’s going viral for all of the right reasons. Listen up, girl dads!

The video starts with his explaining how he got a text message from his daughter’s mom stating that his daughter’s period started while she was at school and that he needs to go buy her some pads and drop it off to her.

He says, “She said to get her some Always pads with some wings, so I feel like I should tell ya’ll what I did.”

Then, he flips the camera to show people that he did indeed buy a package of the maxi pads with wings. He fulfilled the request, right? But that’s not all.

He then moves the camera and shows a plastic bag that has, wings! Yes, real, hot and ready to be delivered (and devoured) chicken wings.

Did he do anything wrong? On the contrary, I think he did everything right! Take notes, girl dads.

This dad, who is adorably confused about whether he was supposed to get the chicken wings or not, is certain that he got the right kind of maxi pads with wings. So, these extra (chicken) wings are a bonus. A much needed bonus (probably).

The comments for the trending video certainly seem to agree that he did something so great without even knowing it.

It’s not only wonderful but so refreshing to see someone from the male species understand the assignment—I mean, come on, he knew exactly which maxi pads to get. But the fact that he added the chicken wings just makes this all the more special and wholesome.

This viral video just goes to show how important it is to teach children, across genders, about periods. The more they know, the more they can be of service to themselves or someone else who is experiencing it.
