If you’ve been waiting patiently to see more than just a glimpse of the live-action remake of this classic Disney film, your wait is over. Because The Little Mermaid trailer is finally here, and it’s just absolutely magical.

During the Oscars on Sunday night, the trailer premiered in full and viewers were able to see the stellar cast in all their under-the-sea glory for the first time. And let’s just say, Halle Bailey is EVERYTHING, Melissa McCarthy perfectly embodies Ursula in every possible way, and Javier Bardem’s King Triton is, uh, well, not too shabby to look at. We’ll just put it that way.

The trailer shows us the underwater world as well as the “above world” and honestly, both look pretty amazing. The music, which we all know and love, is perfectly synced to key moments in the story, including the part where Ariel saves Prince Eric (played by Jonah Hauer-King).

McCarthy’s few lines delivered as Ursula will give you goosebumps, and we even get to see Sebastian (Daveed Diggs) and Scuttle (Awkwafina) discussing Ariel’s human legs.

The OG 1989 film won two Oscars: one for best original song (“Under the Sea”) and best original score. It also looks like the new version of “Under the Sea” is going to be a CGI feast for the eyes, too.

When it was announced that Halle Bailey, who is Black, would be portraying Ariel, the news received a shocking amount of racist backlash. Fortunately, the news was celebrated by little Black girls everywhere—and their reactions went viral on TikTok almost immediately once the teaser trailer was released last fall.

Bailey herself said how much this type of representation would have mattered to her when she was growing up.

“What that would have done for me, how that would have changed my confidence, my belief in myself, everything,” Bailey told Variety at the time. “Things that seem so small to everyone else, it’s so big to us.”

The new “The Little Mermaid” swims into movie theaters on May 26.
