Home / News / Viral & Trending Powerful ‘Mothers Against Greg Abbott’ video goes viral—prepare to get goosebumps Mothers Against Greg Abbot PAC/Twitter "We're ready to fight." By Cassandra Stone July 22, 2022 Mothers Against Greg Abbot PAC/Twitter Rectangle A PAC representing Texas moms has created a viral ad that denounces Republican governor Greg Abbott with a long list of grievances and leadership failures: Mothers Against Greg Abbott. These moms want everyone to know they’re fed up, and that they believe the state of Texas deserves better. The ad features moms from various parts of the state calling out their governor for his lack of response during the state’s massive power grid failure, lax gun laws, laws that terrorize the families of transgender children, the state’s abortion ban, and the limitations on how American history is taught in terms of race and social justice issues. Abbott in the upcoming November election. They say nothing happens in Texas politics, till it does. Till you piss off the Texas Women! And now we are ready to fight! #Nothingchanges pic.twitter.com/2BmuuejhtB— MothersAgainstGregAbbottPAC/MothersforDemocracyPAC (@MomsAGAbbott) July 15, 2022 Mothers Against Greg Abbott is a political action committee (PAC) founded by Nancy Thompson in August 2021. The interesting thing about this PAC is that it’s comprised of a diverse group of constituents from all political parties—yes, including Republicans— who are officially endorsing Abbott’s opponent Beto O’Rourke. “They say nothing changes in Texas politics, until it does,” the ad begins. “Till the Texas power grid failed and our families froze without water and electricity.” Another mom adds, “Until white Texas politicians removed our history from the classroom.” “Till they made it legal to buy a gun without a permit, and openly carry it,” another mom says. The law bans abortions after a fetal heartbeat has been detected while also permitting private citizens to bring civil suits against suspected abortion providers or those suspected of abetting an abortion. In the now-viral video, another mother says Abbott and other Texas politicians “put a $10,000 bounty on anyone who helped a woman get an abortion.” Related: Is a D&C considered an abortion? One mom stands with her child while calling out Abbott’s order to investigate gender-affirming care for transgender children as “abuse.” Another woman decries the ban on books about race and sexuality in Texas schools. One woman is shown sadly mourning the death of a loved one during the COVID-19 pandemic, calling out Abbott and other Texas politicians who “fought mask and vaccine mandates during the worst pandemic in over 100 years.” People all over social media are applauding the efforts of Mothers Against Greg Abbott (it’s probably not a coincidence that this PAC has now reclaimed the ‘MAGA’ acronym). They’re trying to totally gain control over our personal rights and freedoms and the safety that we need in Texas for our families to be able to thrive.” Related Stories News The science behind why baby laughter is so good for you—and the viral TikTok that proves it News Classmates mocked 6-year-old boy for loving pink—his dad’s TikTok clapback says it all 👏 News Pregnancy announcement drama: Is it ever okay to share big news at someone else’s party?
