Seasoned moms always tell you how quickly your newborn will grow out of newborn-sized clothing, but what about babies who enter the world ready to don onesies sized for babies who are crawling?

Meet Finnley Patonai, who was born weighing 14 pounds. Yes, 14 pounds—the size of two newborn babies. (Yes, he was born via C-section. Because YOWZA.)

His parents, Cary and Tim, tell TODAY they were expecting a big baby. But probably not quite that big.

“Finnley was a little celebrity at the hospital. Everyone wanted a selfie with him,” Cary TODAY Parents. “The OB/GYN who performed the C-section said that in 27 years he had never seen a newborn that size. There was so much excitement in the delivery.”

In addition to his size and adorably kissable cheeks, Finnley’s arrival was also extra extra special because he’s a rainbow baby. After enduring 19 miscarriages, Finnley came to be. He joins big brothers Devlen, 10, and Everett, 2.

“Two of the miscarriages were sets of twins,” Cary revealed. “It was was traumatic for the whole family — especially our oldest child. Each loss would break his little heart.”

Anyone who’s suffered a miscarriage knows how fearful you can be when you become pregnant again, while also feeling joy. To have to go through what Cary went through so many times, well, to say it’s heartbreaking is an understatement.

But little (he’s still little for, like, human beings, okay?!) Finnley is healthy and already giving everyone around him so much to talk about! Cary tells KNXV News that they had to go out and get new diapers for him because the hospital didn’t stock ones large enough.

She says her new baby boy was like a “little celebrity” at the hospital, and all the doctors in nurses were in awe of his size. “They couldn’t wait to get him on the scale,” she says.

Congratulations to the Patonai family and may baby Finnley have the best icebreaker of all time for social situations for the rest of his life.
