For some of us, having a baby means we feel confined to our frumpiest sweats on the couch, feeding and trying to nap for a few months. But Alaskan mom and her husband Lee and Mo Thompson, are intent on not letting parenthood stop her from her business and travel goals. Enter: Mo Mountain Mutts, their dog walking business.

Also known as the Alaskan Puppy Bus, Mo and her husband drive around, picking up dogs from their houses and driveways, to take them out on adventures. Some are preciously awaiting her arrival outside, ready to take on Alaskan mountains and creeks, pathways, and other nature outings.

As moms, we can’t help but notice that she has her baby strapped to her back, happily chewing on the straps, checking out the dogs, and excited to be along for the ride. She shows her mama life on the go in her viral Tik Toks, waiting for ferries in the mountains while the baby naps, and bouncing him on a nature walk while he chews on a carrier.

Moms everywhere are just a bit jealous of her innovative career path, hanging out with babies and dogs all day, along with the adventures she goes on even in early parenthood. One mom comments on her video, “What an awesome job she has…and that adorable human baby and fur babies.” Another says, “That baby feels happiness and positivity on that bus.”

Their business, Mo Mountain Mutts, has nearly 400,000 followers on Instagram, after their adorable dog videos and lifestyle have recently hit the news cycle. The internet is in love with the dogs boarding one at a time, sniffing each other, and finding their way to their seats, equipped with leash seatbelts, and hopping on for the ride.

In one Instagram post, her baby chills in her backpack while she hands out dog treats to everyone on the bus, fully equipped for Alaskan weather in her puffy parka and hat. The bus is a bit warmer and much more conducive to traveling with a baby than her original form of transportation—a bicycle. She told NPR, “I’ve been known in my community for a while, but not on the Internet,” she said. “That took the bus.”

She uses the hashtag #travelingwithbabies often in her posts, pointing to her willingness to take her baby everywhere she would have gone before. She’s proving to the naysayers that you can accomplish your goals, even by an Alaskan riverside, and be a parent. She’s not alone — millennials have proven to be more willing to travel than others before them. Around 85% of parents are planning to travel with kids in the next year, whether it’s a day trip to a local mountain like the Thompsons, or a whole beach vacation.

Experts have pointed to the benefits of traveling with babies, even as young as 6 months old, even if you don’t think they’ll remember it. These include additional sensory experiences, improved language, and even better performance in school, one parenting expert tells Travel and Leisure.

So take one from Thompson’s book, strap that baby on your back, and head out for whatever adventures you want, for work or play.
