Sweet dad shows support for daughter after she finds out her husband is leaving her

Divorce is awful, there’s no doubt about that, but sometimes support can come from unexpected places. 

As shown through the video she posted on TikTok, Jacqueline’s sweet dad helps her through the tough times the best way he knows how. He doesn’t pressure her to talk about it, but he simply sits on her bed to “be” with her, and he plays his new favorite song for her and talks about it while he grooves to the beat. 

The song was the Dua Lipa Rocket Man remix, and you’ll never hear this song the same way again after watching this video.

Jacqueline says her dad immediately came over after her husband said he was divorcing her. She said in the video caption that she was “non-functional” in her bed, and her “boomer” dad didn’t know what to do so he played his new favorite song. Dad described what he thought the video would look like to her as he danced on the end of her bed. 

The fact that he just wanted to be there for her and he came immediately to sit on her bed is beyond sweet. It seemed like he wanted to say more, but didn’t have the words, or he didn’t want to make things worse. Viewers loved this sweet act of love and support, and they showed up in the comments. 

“I freakin love Dads … he did what he could to be there for you. I gotta go hug my dad now,” NatCat1738 said.

“That’s a good dad. It’s okay that we don’t always have the words,” another viewer said. Jacqueline responded to them, “Exactly! He didn’t know what to say but he was there and helped me in such a sweet way. He’s the best.”

Another viewer shared her story about her amazing dad: “I’m chronically ill, and once my dad didn’t know what to do when I was very ill, so he picked up my bra and wore it as a hat.” Dads gotta do what dads gotta do sometimes.
