Home / Life This school district is going viral for a promise to kids: Snow days aren’t canceled "Why would we take 'another' thing away from the kids?" By Heather Marcoux November 17, 2020 Rectangle Our kids have seen so many things they look forward to cancelled or changed this year, and that’s why one school district superintendent is going viral for keeping one thing for the kids. A happy dad recently tweeted out his school district’s explanation for keeping the tradition of snow days. “Sure, we could do virtual classes on snow days now, but why would we take ‘another’ thing away from the kids? I dunno what it says about me but this email almost made me cry,” the father tweeted. The screenshot he shared (from a message from his kids’ school district superintendent) says: “We have decided that few childhood acts remain unchanged due to COVID-19 and we will maintain the hope of children by calling actual snow days due to inclement weather.” Yay for snow days and the “childhood acts” that we can protect in 2020.
