By Jamie Orsini February 12, 2021 Rectangle Kristen Wiig is getting real about every working mom‘s worst fear: she worries that her babies will forget her when she goes to work. The Saturday Night Live alum made the admission on Sirius XM’s The Howard Stern Show this week. “It’s really hard because I’m always convinced they’re going to forget who I am if I’m gone for a day,” she said. “I have looked at my children, like, ‘I am your mother. I am your mother.'” Wiig gave birth to twins last year after undergoing IVF treatments. “I am nervous about actually leaving and going to work when that happens because there’s something really nice about being home with them all the time,” she said. Kristen Wiig on Her Husband, Her 2 Babies, and Life at Home The Howard Stern Show/YouTube Wiig then added, “they’re really young right now so I feel like I have that as an advantage. They don’t really know when I’m not there,” she laughed. “But that time is coming and I’m going to do my best to balance, and they will come first.” We get it, Kristen. As moms, we worry about everything. Is this formula too hot? Is my kid too attached to that stuffed animal or pacifier? How will he fare at daycare? Will she wonder where I am? We get it. But you can rest easy knowing that your baby won’t forget about you or do worse in life if you go back to work outside the house. It’s science. A study led by Columbia University’s School of Social Work found that while there might be some downsides to mothers returning to work, there are a lot of upsides, too. You can raise happy, well-adjusted children whether you work outside the home or not. In the same interview, Wiig also confirmed that she married her longtime partner, Avi Rothman. “I am very lucky about having these two babies and my husband, and they make it all better. It’s changed my life,” the Bridesmaids star said.
