Home / News / Celebrity News Joanna Gaines’ mantra for eliminating mom guilt is genius It's all about replacing one word with another. By Heather Marcoux November 6, 2018 Rectangle Joanna Gaines is a busy working mother, obviously. With five kids and at least as many businesses, Jo has a full calendar. Her time is precious, and like all of us, there sometimes aren’t as many minutes in her day as she would like. With so many competing priorities on her plate, it would be easy for Jo to succumb to mom guilt, but she doesn’t. She refuses to beat herself up about spending time away from her kids in order to provide for them, and she has some advice for any mothers who do: “Replace the word guilt with grace. Look for grace in the moments, the small wins that lead to the greatest investments in their little hearts.” In a beautiful Instagram post, Jo detailed how she and Emmie Kay recently spent a morning together, pressing flowers in old books. It was a spontaneous activity her daughter came up with, and a simple way for Jo and her former youngest to connect during such a busy season of life for the family. As Jo relived the moment in a note to her IG followers, she spoke directly to those of us who are also tired and busy, and suggested that a simple shift in perspective can help parents appreciate the connections we have with our kids, and understand that we are enough and we are doing enough. “From one mom to another, stop being so hard on yourself,” Jo writes. “Don’t spend another second focusing on failure, instead use whatever time and whatever energy you have and look for the moments where grace can be found. Because I’m telling you, this grace is sufficient.” It’s great advice, and coming from a mama who’s as busy as she is, it means something. Thank you for giving us some of your grace today, Jo. ⨠You might also like: A letter to moms, love Joanna Gaines Chip Gaines wants more kids with Joanna: ‘I think we have to have another one’ Joanna Gaines’ nursery is messy (because so is motherhood) The latest Viral & Trending Why Volvoâs new ad is the emotional reset every parent needs right now News What parents need to know about the âglass childâ effectâand how to address it News New study shows Black women are 25% more likely to have C-sections, but why?
