By Christina Marfice November 8, 2022 Cindy Ord/Getty Rectangle If you’re one of the 185 million people who streamed Taylor Swift’s new album “Midnights” within the first 24 hours after it’s release, then you probably have something in common with Ryan Reynolds—and his whole family. It’s no secret that Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, have been close friends with Swift for basically forever. But in a new interview during this week’s episode of SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, Reynolds opened up a little bit about what that’s actually like. Specifically, he talked about how his family celebrated Swift’s chart-topping new album. While chatting about his kids’ love for Swift and her music, he mentioned that being a Swiftie is “like a religion in our house,” which will probably be relatable to anyone who has Tay-loving little girls at home. We are having a Taylor Swift Midnights dance party in, uh, right after this,” Reynolds explained. “It’s Sunday. We’re headed straight to the porch where we’re doing a full dance number set to Midnights… swear words included. My favorite thing is when a three-year-old is just throwing down the f-bomb in a song.” Yep, definitely relatable. How many car rides with your own littles include singing to 1989 at the top of your lungs? Kids are smart enough to know good pop music, and so many are just as obsessed with Taylor Swift as we are. They also have another baby currently on the way, and from the sound of things, that child will also be born directly into the Taylor Swift fandom. We should all be so lucky. Later in the interview, Reynolds explained what it’s like for his super-fan kiddos to actually know Swift personally. In particular, he said it took them a bit to grasp the fact that Swift is an actual, professional musician, and not just their fun cat aunt who busts out her guitar when the family gets together. Blake Lively/Instagram “I think what’s most exciting for them is that for the longest time they just thought Taylor’s just a, you know, like an aunt, like a friend of mommy and daddy that’s very, very close, almost family,” he said. “And then they went to a concert one day and were like, ‘Oh, oh this isn’t a hobby.'” Related: Taylor Swift’s new song ‘Bigger Than The Whole Sky’ is helping moms process miscarriage Over the summer, Lively shared pictures of her “pregnant in real life” to discourage paparazzi from harassing her family and children.
