North West is officially on the Hot 100 charts and Kim K is one proud mama

North West is one of the youngest musicians to chart on Billboard’s Hot 100 for her song “Talking” featuring her dad Kanye West, AKA “Ye.” The album, Vultures 1 features Ye and Ty Dolla $ign, per Billboard. In the album’s opening week, it debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200, with “148,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. following its Feb. 10 release.”

Billboard reported, “In December, North dropped by her father’s listening party for his Vultures album. At the event, she took the stage and lip-synced along to her verse.”

The 10-year-old’s verse in the song, and in the music video posted on Instagram, is, “It’s your bestie, Miss, Miss Westie / Don’t tryna test me / It’s gonna get messy / It’s gonna get messy / Just, just bless me.”

And KimK is super proud of her daughter’s momentous accomplishment of topping the charts at just 10 years old.

The reality star shared a screenshot from X, formerly Twitter, on her Instagram Story of a post from @chartdata featuring a photo of North wearing a crown. The post said, “North West earns her first ever entry on the Hot 100 this week with TALKING. She becomes one of the youngest artists to ever chart, at age 10.”

KimK wrote “My baby!!!” over the screenshot, with a heart, heart hands, and clapping emojis—as any proud mama would do. 

People reported that North talked about what she wanted to be when she grew up in her first cover story for i-D’s Fall/Winter issue. In the article, she had her heart set on a few different careers, as one does when they’re 10 years old. 

“A basketball player, a rapper, um…Well when I was 7 I wanted to be a boxer,” she told the outlet. “But now I don’t want to be a boxer. I’m going to do art on the side.”

“When I’m like, 13, I want to walk dogs, to make money to buy art supplies, because everything around here is so expensive. So a rapper, a basketball player, and I’m going to make artwork that I sell,” she said in the interview. 

“Also, one day I want to own Yeezy and SKIMS, and I want to be a business owner,” she added.
