By Heather Marcoux April 12, 2018 Rectangle Life after a miscarriage can be hard, but Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott is proof that there is always hope. The country singer and her husband, Lady Antebellum drummer Chris Tyrrell, recently welcomed twin daughters. Their joy now is as palpable as Scott’s sorrow was back when she very publicly grieved a pregnancy lost in 2015. “It took me a while to fully recover after the miscarriage just because it was physically and emotionally [difficult],” she recently told People. The miscarriage happened when the couple’s oldest daughter, Eisele Kaye (now 4) was just 2 years old. Scott was very open about her pain in 2016, crying as she discussed the situation on Good Morning America, and pouring her hurt into a song called “Thy Will.” The track was released not with Lady Antebellum, but with her side project, Hillary Scott and the Scott Family. Now, her immediate family has two new baby band members in 10-week-old twins Betsy Mack and Emory JoAnn. Scott says learning that she was not only pregnant again, but expecting two babies, was a lot to take in—in a good way. Happy 4 weeks baby girls. ðð A post shared by Hillary Scott (@hillaryscottla) on Feb 26, 2018 at 2:27pm PST “It was emotional, because I’m like, ‘Oh, we’re going to have as many babies in our house as I hoped we would have,’ ” Scott told People. “It just isn’t in the same timing that I thought it was going to be, but we are going to have our three.” The couple broke the news to Eisele on video, and later shared the clip with fans on Instagram. God has answered our family’s countless prayers! Our family is growing…Chris, Eisele, and I wanted to share our DOUBLE portion of joy with you all! We appreciate all the love and prayers in the coming weeks as we wait (somewhat patiently if you’re Chris and I, and impatiently if you’re Eisele ð) for these precious BABIES to arrive. Yep, babies! We are having TWINS! It’s truly a miracle. Because we’ve been so open about our last pregnancy loss and journey, I want to be fully transparent with you that this happened naturally. Chris nor I have any family history of twins that we can find and are just resting in the profound gift this truly is. My heart still grieves for our loss and all who are struggling with pregnancy and infant loss and infertility. God hears every prayer and I will continue to share our story to point to the Source of all life, peace and comfort in the best and most difficult of times. Don’t lose hope! The Tyrrell’s A post shared by Hillary Scott (@hillaryscottla) on Aug 18, 2017 at 11:12am PDT Having known the heartbreak of loss, Scott was anxious in the first trimester, but her husband helped her think positively about the pregnancy. “In the beginning, you don’t go to the doctor a lot, you don’t do a lot of ultrasounds, so there’s a lot of faith-building in those first several weeks,” she explained. “Hands-down, Chris was like, ‘They’re great, you’re healthy, they’re healthy … I have complete peace that these babies are going to be perfect.'” In the end, Chris was right—those babies are perfect. We’re so happy for the couple and so grateful to Scott for being so candid about all she’s been through in making her family. It isn’t always easy, and admitting that is as important as celebrating birth announcements (and makes them even more joyful).
