Hilary Duff says she’s ‘no longer responding’ to messages asking when her baby is coming

As Hilary Duff prepares to welcome her fourth child, she’s issuing a firm but polite PSA to everyone who keeps asking when her baby is coming, reminding the world that there’s no need for all the probative questions.

In a post shared to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, April 21, Duff asked fans and followers to chill with the messages about her expected delivery date. “Hi friends – This is meant in the kindest tone (I promise) I am no longer responding to texts or [dms] about ‘when baby is coming!'” she wrote. “I know everyone is checking in with love and humor, however, trust me nobody wants it more than me!!!!! Babies come when they are ready. I am trying my best to be patient! The days are long and uncomfortable. Promise I will let you know.”

Of course, it’s certainly out of pocket for people to ask these questions of strangers, but it definitely makes sense if the 36-year-old is equally sick of loved ones and acquaintances asking, too. Especially in those final weeks of pregnancy, the last thing anyone wants is to be fielding questions about the status of their womb.

Since announcing her pregnancy last December, Duff has been chronicling the journey every step of the way on social media, sharing gorgeous family photos and even lamenting the length of her final trimester. Just last week, she shared a gallery of shots, noting in her caption that she was “gently trying to give baby the eviction notice.”

Duff and her husband, music producer Matthew Koma, share two daughters, 5-year-old Banks and 3-year-old Mae. She also shares her 12-year-old son Luca with ex-husband Mike Comrie. It seems the proud mama loves the “mayhem and the craziness” of having a big family. As she told Shape in June 2023: “I love my loud household with mayhem and the craziness and all the love and all the dirt. I love [parenting] with my husband. I love feeling like hugs and cuddles can make everything better. I love the pressure of being like, ‘How the f*ck are we going to make it through this day?’ And making it through the day.”

Here’s hoping that the final stretch of her pregnancy is smooth and gentle, and that she has a safe delivery… oh, and that she can stop fielding incessant questions about her due date. Give a girl some peace and quiet, people!
