Home / News / Celebrity News It’s a girl! The video of Kate Hudson’s gender reveal is OMG “Hiding is more exhausting than just coming out with it!” says Hudson. By Heather Marcoux April 6, 2018 Rectangle Usually, a pregnancy announcement precedes a social media gender reveal, but Kate Hudson just gave the internet a two-for-one deal, revealing—via Instagram video—that she’s expecting a daughter. “SURPRISE!!! ? If you’ve wondered why I’ve been so absent on my social channels it’s because I have never been more sick!” Hudson captioned the video, noting that she could not deal with pictures of food on Instagram lately. SURPRISE!!! 𤱠If youâve wondered why Iâve been so absent on my social channels itâs because I have never been more sick! Itâs was the most sick first trimester of all my children. Boomerangs have made me nauseous, Superzoom is an easy way to have my head in the toilet, food instagrams make me queezy and thinking too much about insta stories made me even more exhausted than I already had been. If youâve seen me out and about smiling and pretending like everything is amazing…I was lying! BUT! I have broken through on the other end of that and rediscovering the joys of insta/snap. We have been trying to keep this pregnancy under the radar for as long as possible but Iâm a poppin now! And itâs too darn challenging to hide, and frankly hiding is more exhausting then just coming out with it! My kids, Danny, myself and the entire family are crazy excited! A little girl on the way ð A post shared by Kate Hudson (@katehudson) on Apr 6, 2018 at 10:15am PDT The 38-year-old mom of two (soon to be three) and boyfriend Danny Fujikawa are expecting their first child together, and included Hudson’s sons, 14-year-old Ryder Russell and 6-year-old Bingham Hawn, in their balloon popping reveal. The nausea has obviously been hard on Hudson, but it’s also obvious how excited she and her family are for the new arrival. She says so explicitly in the caption for her Instagram reveal. “We have been trying to keep this pregnancy under the radar for as long as possible but I’m a poppin now! And it’s too darn challenging to hide, and frankly hiding is more exhausting than just coming out with it! My kids, Danny, myself and the entire family are crazy excited! A little girl on the way ?” First a pixie cut, now a baby girl. It’s definitely been a season of change for this legging-loving mama, but that’s something Hudson’s used to. “I shot Almost Famous at 20, and I got married [to musician Chris Robinson, Ryder’s father] at 21. I had Ryder at 24 so, you know, a lot happened in my 20s. I was working a lot, and there were times that were extremely tumultuous,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in 2012. “So 30 kind of felt like ‘Oh, okay.’ I had a different kind of confidence.” That was the age at which she welcomed son Bingham with Muse singer Matt Bellamy. In 2012 Hudson told Redbook that pregnancy was super different than her first. “With my second child, I got acne, all my hair fell out after he was born,” she revealed. With her super chic pixie that might not be as big of a problem this time around, but as all mamas know, every pregnancy is different. The biggest difference for Hudson this time will be when this #boymom welcomes a daughter. Congrats Kate!
