There’s no denying that this has been the year of “Barbie.” The smash hit movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling has been absolutely everywhere since it took over the box office over the summer (and with Halloween right around the corner, we can only assume we’re about to see a whole lot more of Barbie and Ken). Robbie and Gosling had incredible onscreen chemistry together, which is why the entire world is rejoicing to learn that they’re returning to Barbieland maybe Italy? The two stars have been tapped for the lead roles in a prequel to 2001’s “Ocean’s 11.”

“They’re wonderful together,” producer Josey McNamara told reporters once the news broke of the casting. “The more projects even outside of that we can have them do would be amazing.”

Unfortunately, if you were hoping McNamara would spill some details about what to expect from this movie, you’ll be disappointed.

“I can’t really say much, but I think we’re just trying to do right by the franchise. I’m excited for people to experience it when it’s ready,” he said.

All we really know so far is what Robbie’s publicist told People magazine back in May: that it’s “an original Ocean’s film set in the ’60s” that will be directed by “Austin Powers” series filmmaker Jay Roach.

But that’s enough to have social media buzzing. Honestly, after “Barbie,” putting Robbie and Gosling onscreen together is pretty much enough to guarantee a hit.

The original “Ocean’s 11” came out in 2001 and starred George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts. It’s since been followed up by several successful sequels — but we already have a feeling this one will give them all a run for their money.
