Home / News / Celebrity News Blake Lively is every millennial mom fangirling over the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC Blake Livey/Instagram To be fair, the Backstreet Boys learning NSYNC's 'Bye Bye Bye' dance is EVERYTHING. By Cassandra Stone June 24, 2021 Blake Livey/Instagram Rectangle We might be “older millennials.” Many of us might be moms now. But that doesn’t mean that we’ve forgotten our fangirling roots, OK? And no one better demonstrates this than Blake Lively, who shared her extremely relatable reaction to watching the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC learn the famous “Bye Bye Bye” dance. She is ready to break the internet over the amazing video, and honestly, SAME. The initial footage was posted to both boy bands’ social media accounts, where it basically immediately exploded because who doesn’t want to watch these two titans of the teen boy band era come together to perform as one? Blake even admitted her husband, Ryan Reynolds, initially sent her the video of the performance—husband of the year, anyone? Here’s the performance you’ll watch multiple times today: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lance Bass (@lancebass) AMAZING, right?! A.J. McLean is going hard for this song, and we’re here for it. Now here’s Blake’s reaction, which she posted to her Instagram Story yesterday: “True story: I just watched this until Instagram finally cut me off by pausing the video,” she wrote in the Story. “Because even they knew it was too much for me to handle in one sitting…” And Ryan definitely deserves some credit here too, because he knows what his wife wants and needs in her content curation: “Also, a true story. My husband sent this to me. He understands the significance. God bless him.” The Backstreet Boys and NSYNC video currently has millions of views on all platforms, so Blake is clearly not alone in her adoration. Backstreet Boys members AJ McLean and Nick Carter partnered up with NSYNC’s Joey Fatone and Lance Bass to create the ultimate boy-band: “Back-Sync.” “It’s interesting to have the four of us knuckleheads do something together, which you’ve never seen before,” Fatone told Variety. “BSB fans are very loyal, so we’re going, ‘We get it – certain people liked one band or the other back in the day, but now it’s okay to like both.’ ” Carter added, “Better late than never, right?” They kicked things off over the weekend at Bingo Under the Stars in Los Angeles, a Pride event benefitting L.A. Pride and The Trevor Project. “(Friday) night was our first performance hopefully of many as ‘Back-Sync,’ ” McLean said in a TikTok video Saturday night. “I want to thank my brother Nick Carter and my two adopted brothers, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass.” Yes, THANK YOU. Thank you all. Your fans are all grown up, but we need and deserve this resurgence. Bravo, boys!
