Listen, it doesn’t matter who you are or what you do—if you’re a parent, you need to have friends in your life who are also parents. While the lack of a village is a very, very real thing for many of us, where would we be without a go-to mom friend or two? For Andy Cohen, those mom friends are Sarah Jessica Parker and Kelly Ripa.

The proud papa of two—his son Ben is three and his daughter Lucy is just six months old—tells TODAY Parents that when he has questions only a mom can answer, he goes right to his mom pals. SJP is mom to three kiddos with husband Matthew Broderick—20-year-old James and 13-year-old twins Tabitha and Marion—so she knows a thing or two.

“I was living next door to Sarah Jessica this summer, and I was really in the weeds,” Cohen said.

Apparently Ben was climbing out of his toddler bed in the middle of the night and has reached Peak Toddler in terms of tantrums. Also, the adjustment from one child for a few years to two children has got to be one of the rudest, most abrupt changes anyone can go through in life. So yeah, you’re gonna need some support.

“(Sarah Jessica) was just a good outlet for me for me to say, ‘I’m going through this. Is it normal? What do I do?'” Cohen explained.

He says Kelly Ripa is also a great sounding board and advice-giver when it comes to parenting stuff. Ripa also has three kids with husband Mark Consuelos: Michael, 25, Lola, 21, and Joaquin, 19.

“Kelly and Sarah Jessica have been really great because I can text them at any time, and be like, ‘Ben is constipated,’” he revealed. “Then I know immediately what to run out and get.”

Cohen says both Ripa and SJP found him a proper baby nurse and a nanny to help him navigate single parenthood of two kids three and under. (Could you imagine getting glycerin suppository advice from Carrie Bradshaw?) He also credits his younger sister, Emily (also a mom), with being a “smart, steady voice” when it comes to parenting advice.

One thing about Andy Cohen is he isn’t ever afraid of, well, anything it seems, but he’s also really great at shouting out the support he receives from the women in his life. When Lucy was born back in April, he gave a public nod to the surrogate who carried and delivered her.

“HERE’S LUCY!!!!! Meet my daughter, Lucy Eve Cohen!” the proud papa shared on Friday, April 29. “She’s 8 pounds 13 oz and was born at 5:13 pm in New York City!!! Her big brother can’t wait to meet her! Thank you to my rock star surrogate (ALL surrogates are rockstars, by the way) and everyone who helped make this miracle happen. I’m so happy.”
