By Cassandra Stone July 21, 2022 Alicia Silverstone/Instagram Rectangle Alicia Silverstone has always been open about how she parents her now 11-year-old son, Bear. In a recent podcast interview, she admitted that she and Bear are still bed-sharing. No matter how you feel about co-sleeping, most of us are pretty familiar with those middle-of-the-night whispers of “Mommy?” as little hands and feet begin crawling into bed with you. Silverstone did make it clear that she and Bear still intentionally share a bed every night. âBear and I still sleep together,â Silverstone said on The Ellen Fisher Podcast, âIâll be in trouble for saying that, but I really donât care.â Related: Attachment parenting is not the same as having a secure attachmentâhereâs why During the podcast, she explained that she’s a “natural mama” who believes in “love and nature” while chiding society for being scared of those things. She’s often described her parenting style as attachment parenting. During the podcast, she described her thoughts on co-sleeping as âfollowing nature.â In 2014, Silverstone wrote a book called âThe Kind Mama,â where she said that placing a child in a crib is âtantamount to child neglect.â âIf you were in any kind of wild setting where there are animals, if you put your baby over there,â Silverstone said while pointing, âyour baby is going to get eaten. Itâs not ideal for the baby to be over there.â Outside of bed-sharing, she’s often been featured in the news for her parenting style through the years. While it’s probably fair to say that many of her parenting approaches are slightly outside the norm, it’s clear she loves being Bear’s mom more than anything. This video was taken about a month or 2 ago when he was a bit wobbly. Now he is grabbing my mouth to get the food!â During her recent podcast interview, she discussed why Bear is an only child. âI wanted to have more (kids), but then my relationship got messed up, and it wasnât a great time to bring one in. I didnât want to have one right away because I was so in love with my Bear,â she explained. âI wanted to ⊠squeeze every little moment out of him, so it wasnât until he was like 3 that I was ready to make another baby and then I didnât have a partner, so thatâs why I donât have four babies.â And honestly, it looks like she and Bear have a total blast together. Last year, the actress joined TikTok and featured her son in an amazing video where she played homage to her iconic Clueless character. @aliciasilverstone Ugh!
