Home / Health & Wellness / Fitness Brooklyn Decker shares the struggle of postpartum workouts—because it really is that hard We're here for you in solidarity, mama! By Sabrina Rojas Weiss July 29, 2019 Rectangle In What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Brooklyn Decker’s character sailed through pregnancy with such ease, everyone envied her. In real life, the mother of two is gaining a lot of new fans by sharing her most embarrassing struggles with getting back into a workout routine postpartum. Because who thought we could all relate to a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model? “This ‘getting back into shape’ thing is going really well,” Decker wrote on Instagram Friday. “On this run I almost sh– me-self. Any other gals (moms?) dealing with this?” The answer was a resounding yes, along with many other tales of postpartum fitness difficulties that people were eager to share. data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-version="4" style=" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);"> “I had baby #3 six months ago,” @sherstin replied. “Running is my exercise of choice and requires a tampon, backup poise pad, and not drinking a few hours before- otherwise I’ll pee all over myself. I don’t know if all that will work for pooping- but I wish you all the best! I really do find that running improves all areas of my life though – endorphins are fantastic.” “Running rule I recently read: Never trust a fart after mile 3,” @lyzzgb advised. To which Decker replied, “Well thank the Lord I didn’t get to mile 3….” data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-version="4" style=" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);"> Decker and her husband, retired tennis pro Andy Roddick, welcomed son Hank in September 2015 and daughter Stevie in November 2017. The Grace and Frankie star has talked before about how having children changed her body, particularly after someone rudely remarked on it in January. “For the umpteenth time- because people love to comment on my body (or lack thereof) my children sucked the life out of my body and left behind a bag of bones,” Decker tweeted. “I don’t know what else to tell you. I miss my boobs too-I don’t even know what to call them now.” Decker has clearly been motivated recently to start exercising what she calls her “noodle body,” something she said she hasn’t done consistently for three years. Running has also made her feel like throwing up, she said in an Instagram story on Friday. When Roddick didn’t adequately sympathize with her struggles and instead started doing crunches, she was not amused, lying on the floor as he laughed. Well, we’re here for you in solidarity, mama!
