Bindi Irwin recreates sweet family maternity photo

Bindi Irwin found a sweet way to include her late father in her first pregnancy.

The conservationist and zookeeper paid tribute to her father, Steve Irwin, by recreating a precious family photo.

Irwin shared the two photos on Instagram this week. In the first picture, her husband, Chandler Powell, is bending over and kissing her exposed belly, while Bindi happily cradles her bump.

It’s a recreation of the second photo, which features her parents in similar poses. In the throwback photo, Bindi’s mom, Teri, is pregnant with her younger brother, Robert. Young Bindi is also kissing her mom’s belly.

Irwin captioned the photos, “recreating a very special moment. Third trimester love.”

Steve Irwin died in 2006 after a stingray stung him in the chest while he was filming an ocean documentary.

Bindi was 8 years old when her father died. Robert was just 2.

Teri, Bindi, and Robert have committed their lives to wildlife conservation and honoring Steve Irwin’s legacy.

The trio, along with Bindi’s husband, Chandler, all work at Australia Zoo.

Bindi regularly shares updates about her family, pregnancy, and her work at Australia Zoo. She also frequently shares photos, videos, and memories of her father, who she calls her “superhero.”

We love how Bindi and Chandler are including her father in their parenting journey. Steve Irwin is remembered for his passion for wildlife and his love for family. It looks like Bindi and Chandler will raise their little one with similar values.
