Move over, average newborns! There’s a new (big) kid in town, and she’s already breaking records before even saying hello to the world. Baby Paris Halo made quite the entrance at Grandview Medical Center in Alabama on Tuesday morning, tipping the scales at a jaw-dropping 13 pounds, 4 ounces.

That’s right—13 pounds. For reference, that’s approximately the weight of:

  • A holiday turkey for a small gathering
  • Three and a half gallons of milk
  • The average household cat
  • Seventeen standard-sized smartphones stacked together

Paris’s mom, Pamela Mann, couldn’t believe it either. “Everybody in the ER—they were amazed,” she shared to WBRC. “They were like, ‘OMG. Oh, this is a big baby!’ So, I was like, ‘Is something wrong? What’s wrong?’ And once they actually just said she’s just big, I just broke out into tears! It’s an amazing experience.”

When doctors scheduled Mann’s C-section for March 4, they estimated Paris would weigh around 10 pounds based on ultrasound measurements three to four weeks prior. Clearly, Paris had other plans, packing on an additional three pounds before her grand debut. She arrived at 39 weeks, measuring an impressive 22 inches long, sending everyone in the delivery room into a state of awe.

For reference, the average newborn weighs between 7-8 pounds, according to The Journal of Pediatrics. But Paris? She decided “average” just wasn’t her style.

Currently, she’s receiving some extra care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), but hospital staff say both mom and baby are doing wonderfully. They’re expected to head home in just a few days.

One can only imagine the baby shower gifts that might need upgrading.

  • Those newborn onesies? Already too small.
  • The cute little mittens? Might need toddler gloves.
  • And let’s not even talk about the diapers—Paris may be skipping straight to size 2s!

Mann says she’s incredibly proud of herself for carrying Paris to 39 weeks—a true feat when growing a not-so-small human.

Congratulations to Pamela Mann on her beautiful baby girl! May Paris’s grand entrance be the first of many extraordinary moments in her life. And next time someone asks if Mann has a “little one” at home, she just might smile and say, “Well, that depends on your definition of little.”
