Home / Life Write a letter to your baby you’ll both cherish forever Let us help you write a letter to your baby-to-be. By Diana Spalding, CNM February 1, 2017 Rectangle We spend so much of pregnancy thinking about the logistics of it all—getting the nursery ready, developing our dream registry, picking out a name, figuring out maternity leave, planning our birth and of course, all those prenatal appointments. It’s easy to get swept up in the details and forget that the reason behind all of it, is that you are having a baby. Just let that sink in for a second. You are having a baby. An adorable, soft, warm baby. Your baby, that you get to kiss and love and raise into an incredible human being. Woah. In Motherly’s birth class we provide some meditation MP3s, to help you relax before and during your birth (PS: You can learn more about the class here.) One of those meditations is a letter to your baby—because sometimes its helpful to remember why we are doing all of this anyway. Writing a letter to your baby is such a sweet way to connect to them (and makes a rockin’ first entry in their baby book). But, it can feel a little awkward getting started. So to help you get started, we made a little “Madlibs” style letter for you to fill out. Have fun, and don’t forget to let anyone else in your baby’ life fill one out too.
