Home / Life Dad captures wife giving birth at a gas station in viral TikTok This gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "pit stop!" By Cassandra Stone July 15, 2021 Rectangle One minute, you’re on the open highway enjoying a road trip and the next minute, you’re pushing out your baby in the middle of a gas station bathroom! At least that was the case for one Texas couple who was headed home after visiting family across the state when the very pregnant half of the couple felt a random need to push. Kaitlyn Fullerton Mancera says she thought she was experiencing either Braxton Hicks contractions or a need to use the bathroom while riding in the car. Her husband, Sergio Mancera, pulled into a gas station to accommodate his wife, as you do, not knowing it was going to be one of the wildest birth stories of all time! And BOOM, before you know it, their newborn baby entered the world in the middle of said gas station. “We got further along the road and I felt like I needed to start pushing, well I thought I needed to go to the bathroom,” she told ABC13. “I kept on feeling like a water pressure…. because whenever I stood up, my water broke.” And, lucky us, Dad captured the whole thing on camera and uploaded the video of their crazy birth experience to TikTok. It’s no surprise that the video quickly went viral! @thesergiomancera @mancerakaitlyn this is going to be a story to tell one day ##naturalbirth ##laboranddelivery ##foryou ##DontSpillChallenge ##fypシ ##houstontx ##Houston♬ chicken tikka – han Kaitlyn says she began to feel contractions right there in the bathroom stall. A few fellow female patrons asked her if she was alright, likely not thinking a live birth was about to happen before their eyes. Which is exactly what happened. Kaitlyn asked one of the women to inform her husband, who was just hanging out in the parking lot, waiting for his wife to finish her business. “I was on my phone and 10 minutes later, a woman showed up and said, ‘Hey, your wife just gave birth,’ and I was like, ‘What! Really?'” Sergio told the news station. He said he grabbed their older son and ran to the bathroom to see what was going on. “I couldn’t believe it,” he said. No kidding! Who would?! Luckily, mom and baby were taken to a local hospital and are both doing just fine. After the whirlwind birthing experience, Kaitlyn later shared her thoughts on her Instagram account. data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-version=”4″ style=” background:#FFF; border:0;border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15);margin: 1px; max-width:658px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% – 2px);width:calc(100% – 2px);”> “When I stood there holding you by myself in the restroom after delivering you myself, I’ve never felt so proud in my life. You are one of my once-in-a-lifetime moments,” she wrote in the caption. “You literally reminded me of everything I’ve believed in my whole life. The best things in life happen unexpectedly.” Absolutely they do! Congratulations to the new family of four.
