By Heather Marcoux October 14, 2020 Rectangle When Kelly Clarkson announced she was divorcing Brandon Blackstock back in June fans were sad, and so, of course, were Clarkson and Blackstock’s two children, 4-year-old Remington and 6-year-old River, and Clarkson’s stepchildren, teenagers Seth and Savannah “There’s a lot of hearts involved here,” Clarkson recently told Entertainment Tonight. In a year filled with so much external uncertainty thanks to the pandemic, Clarkson’s kids and stepchildren were also seeing their family unit change. And their hearts hurt. In a recent interview with Extra, Clarkson explained how she’s helping Remington and River cope with this difficult transition. “We have a lot of help as far as therapists or child psychologists because we want to do it right…I definitely want to do it right.” Navigating the world of divorce and co-parenting is so hard, and it’s awesome that Clarkson has some professional help in her corner, making sure her kids have the support they need and can feel their feelings. “Everyone’s sad—and it’s okay to be sad,” Clakson shared. Clarkson has publicly stated that she didn’t see the end of her marriage of seven years coming, but something happened that forever changed her relationship with Blackstock.
