I may regret posting this. I may not. I actually don’t know." By Cassandra Stone November 24, 2021 Jessie J/Instagram Rectangle Jessie J reveals she has suffered a pregnancy loss in an emotional and deeply personal Instagram post. She says she had decided to have a baby on her own, but a recent ultrasound revealed that her baby’s heart was no longer beating. Hours before she was set to take the stage for a concert in Los Angeles, she shared an image of her holding a pregnancy test and told the world that, sadly, she had a miscarriage. “Yesterday morning I was laughing with a friend saying ‘seriously though how am I going to get through my gig in LA tomorrow night without telling the whole audience I am pregnant,'” she writes in the caption. I feel like I have no control of my emotions. I may regret posting this. I may not. I actually don’t know.” Jessie said she was worried she wouldn’t be able to get through the concert, but that singing is healing for her—so she’s deciding to go through with it. “What I do know is that I want to sing tonight,” she explains. “Not because I’m avoiding the grief or the process, but because I know singing tonight will help me.” She says she decided to have a baby on her own, without a partner: “Because it’s all I’ve ever wanted and life is short. To get pregnant was a miracle in itself and an experience I will never forget and I know I will have again.” She also decided to share her sad news because she knows too many people suffer in silence after a miscarriage. Having support through a community of people who understand the grief and pain surrounding pregnancy loss is invaluable. “I’m still in shock, the sadness is overwhelming,” she writes. “But I know I am strong, and I know I will be ok. I also know millions of women all over the world have felt this pain and way worse. I feel connected to those of you I know and those of you I don’t.” Sending all our love and support to Jessie J today and always.
