Home / Life / Beauty & Style How To Dress Your Bump During The Third Trimester 4 styling tips to help you keep your growing bump styling until D-Day. By Jenny Greenstein March 10, 2017 Rectangle The third trimester brings up mixed feelings: excitement building up for baby’s upcoming arrival, anxiety about the birth and the end of the journey, and a dramatically changed shape. The emotions that come with moving into the last and final phase of your pregnancy is inevitable, and wardrobe challenges should be the least of your concern. But during the third trimester, your growing bump can make getting dressed really, really tricky. Though your main goal is to stay comfortable, there’s no reason you can’t do it in style. The strategies below will keep you looking and feeling amazing until D-Day. Here are 4 tips to stay stylish during the third trimester. COMFORT IS KEY. Between the extra weight and the exhaustion of trying to manage it all, no doubt this is the least comfortable trimester. So keeping things easy, low key and comfortable are of the utmost importance. Here are a few styles to keep it all on point while simultaneously keeping you cozy. 1. ASOS Maternity Relaxed Jumpsuit, $49. 2. Topshop Maternity Sweat Dress, $58. 3. Hatch Collection, Georgie Jumper, $258. WEAR DRESSES. As your bump grows to its largest, the least amount of constriction on your midsection is ideal. One-piece dressing also keeps things super easy. With spring in mind, here are a few styles we are loving: 1. Envie De Fraise Maternity Dress, $65. 2. Isabella Oliver Off-The-Shoulder Dress, $175. 3. ASOS Hope & Ivy Maternity Dress, $98. Bonus tip: women can get uncomfortable when their legs rub against each other in the thigh area, which can happen towards the end. Throw on shapewear like these from Rosie Pope underneath your dresses for added comfort. CHOOSE FUNCTIONAL FOOTWEAR. Putting shoes on towards the end of pregnancy is a very real challenge. So get used to the idea and get the right footwear. Ensuring you have appropriate, easy footwear that is fashionable and functional is key. Slip-ons are especially great for that stage. Here are a few options we love for the warmer months. 1. Vans Classic Slip-on sneakers, $50. 2. Sam Edelman Ballet Flat, $100. 3. Metallic Birkenstocks, $135. DON’T FORGET ABOUT 4th TRIMESTER PURCHASES. While you don’t feel like spending in your 3rd trimester since the pregnancy is nearing the end, keep in mind that many of these pieces will function well into your postpartum days. Buying items that are both maternity AND nursing-friendly will get you the most bang for your buck. Here are a few items to consider: 1. Loyal Hana Carrie Top, $90. 2. Boob Design Alicia Top, $70. 3. Kinwolfe Floral Print Dress, $325.
