Britney Spears personally thanks the #FreeBritney movement in new Instagram post

For the first time, Britney Spears is personally addressing her fans who tirelessly took part in the #FreeBritney movement for the last few years. In a new Instagram post, she thanks fans for their “constant resilience” and talks about her next steps amid her newfound freedom.

On Monday, Spears addressed her fans just days after her father, Jamie Spears, was suspended as conservator of her estate after 13 years.

“I have no words … because of you guys and your constant resilience in freeing me from my conservatorship … my life is now in that direction !!!!! I cried last night for two hours cause my fans are the best and I know it …” she writes in the caption.

She’s looking fresh and fabulous in the video, likely due the tropical vacation she and her fiancé, Sam Asghari, are enjoying right now—perhaps as a little celebration? If so, it couldn’t be more deserved.

In the post, Spears shares that the support she’s received from her fans makes her emotional.

“I cried last night for two hours cause my fans are the best and I know it,” she writes. “I feel your hearts and you feel mine … that much I know is true !!!!!”

Last week, judge Brenda Penny agreed to a request by Britney’s attorney Mathew Rosengart to suspend her father’s role in her conservatorship. She appointed CPA John Zabel as Jamie’s temporary replacement through the end of the year. Judge Penny said that her decision was made “in the best interest of the conservatee, which is my goal.”

The next hearing in Spears’ conservatorship case will take place on Nov. 12, and the focus of that hearing will be to terminate the conservatorship entirely, per PEOPLE. Spears’ attorney, Matthew Rosengart, says he’s not only going to focus on terminating the conservatorship but also investigate the misconduct of Jamie Spears and his team throughout the past 13 years.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Britney’s father has stated in his filings that the pop star may no longer need a conservatorship — something the singer’s attorney Rosengart told PEOPLE is a “massive legal victory” for the singer as her case moves forward on Nov. 12 with a hearing that focuses on whether to terminate her conservatorship entirely.

“It’s going to entail reviewing all the files that Jamie Spears now, as a result of a court’s order today, is going to turn over,” Rosengart told PEOPLE.
