Bindi Irwin’s baby rocks her Grandpa Steve’s Australia Zoo khakis

Could you imagine spending your birthday at the Australia Zoo? How amazing would that be? Well, one lucky lady got to celebrate her one-month birthday in the coolest way possible: with baby turtles. And her very own zoo uniform. That’s right, Bindi Irwin‘s baby girl, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, donned a set of khaki’s just like her Grandpa Steve used to wear. There’s no question that Steve Irwin’s influence is just as prevalent as it ever was, and his family is proof.

Over the weekend, Bindi shared the adorable series of photos showing Grace in “her first khakis.”

“To celebrate one month, our beautiful Grace Warrior received her first khakis and met the star tortoises here at Australia Zoo,” she wrote in the caption. “We’re so proud of our Wildlife Warrior princess,” the mom of one added. “I know our darling girl is going to grow up caring for Mother Earth and all her animals.”

Darling, indeed.

Along with her mother, Terri; her brother, Robert; and her husband, Chandler, Bindi stars in “Crikey! It’s The Irwins” on Animal Planet. The series documents life at the Australia Zoo, and the Irwin family’s dedication to upholding Steve Irwin’s legacy of wildlife conservation. In an upcoming episode, Bindi opens up about how hard it is to be a parent when you’ve lost one yourself.

“It’s hard knowing that she’ll never get to actually meet (my dad), and it’s devastating because I’ll never get to watch that connection,” she says in a clip that shows how enamored her dad was holding her as a newborn. “But I cannot wait to be able to tell beautiful Grace all of these stories about Dad, to be able to share with her what an amazing father he was.”

Nothing can ever fill the void of a lost parent and all the memories and life experiences that occur after losing them. Thankfully, Bindi can show her little one hours and hours of footage of her grandpa doing what he does best: caring for the animals he loved like family.

And of course, Bindi has her own family memories to share with her daughter: “I cannot wait to tell beautiful Grace all these stories about Dad.”
