By Heather Marcoux July 30, 2020 Ashley Graham/Instagram Rectangle Model Ashley Graham welcomed her first child in January and is back at work with a new Swimsuits For All campaign that is reminding us that stretch marks are a completely normal part of a beautiful body. It is totally normal for people to have stretch marks. They happen for all kinds of reasons, especially as your belly grows during pregnancy. So we love how Graham refuses to be shamed for having a normal human feature on her body. data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-version=”4″ style=” background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% – 2px); width:calc(100% – 2px);”> Graham says she’s spent most of her summer hanging in swimsuits in Nebraska and making memories as a first-time mom, and by sharing a bit of that with the world she’s helping other mamas make memories, too. We will not be ashamed to throw on a swimsuit and skip through the sprinkler with our kids because we understand how pregnancy really changes your body, and refuse to feel bad about it. “Thank you for being REAL! You are beautiful,” one of Graham’s Instagram followers noted in the comments on the ad. ” All these celebrities that seemingly ‘bounce back’ and look like they never gave birth to a child is so unrealistic!” We love how Graham is embracing the changes fellow mothers have been told to reject. We won’t reject or hate our stretch marks. They are a map of the journey to motherhood and that journey is worth remembering and celebrating.
