Home / Holidays / Halloween Disney’s adaptive Halloween costumes are as adorable as they are necessary 🎃 They're designed for kids who use wheelchairs and are so cute! By Sabrina Rojas Weiss August 11, 2020 Rectangle It’s happening sooner than you think. Halloween is just around the corner and it just got a little easier for some parents. This week ShopDisney.com released its first-ever line of Halloween costumes designed for kids with sensory issues and for those who use wheelchairs. These costume designs include Cinderella , Buzz Lightyear and Incredibles characters. The wheelchair-friendly costumes are made with openings in the back, so they’re easier to put on and take off. They also come in longer lengths and have flap closures in the front for trick-or-treaters who need tube access. Plus, there are two very cool options for dressing up the chairs themselves. Parents of kids with special needs have often faced the dilemma of Halloween with impressive levels of creativity. Pinterest is packed with examples of costumes that turn wheelchairs, crutches, and walkers into features worthy of envy. There’s even a nonprofit devoted to creating spectacular wheelchair pieces. Sites dedicated to helping parents of kids with autism and other sensory issues have several suggestions every year for modifying comfortable regular clothing into costumes that their kids will want to wear and show off. Still, for busy parents, the ability to buy a Halloween costume readymade means they have one less task off their already full plates. Here are the new adaptive Disney costumes (some are available now and others ship in mid-September): The Incredibles + the Incredimobile wheelchair cover View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Eyes of CVI👁👁Stages 1,2,3 (@cvi.mom) on Aug 10, 2020 at 5:55pm PDT This is a great option if the family wants to go for a theme.
