Dearica Hamby

Dearica Hamby is a forward for the Los Angeles Sparks, joining the WNBA after being drafted 6th overall in 2015. Dearica began her career with the Las Vegas Aces and was voted WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year in 2019 and in 2020 – going on to win the WNBA championship in 2022. She’s been an WNBA All Star the last two years and was recently traded to the LA Sparks where she’ll begin the new season in May. Dearica is a mother of two to her daughter, six-year-old Amaya, and her son, Legend, who was born in March of this year. She is passionate about supporting other moms in the league and new moms as they return to work, and is proud to be an advocate for new parents on and off the court. Dearica grew up in Marietta, GA and now lives in Los Angeles with her family.
