Home / News / Celebrity News Kim Kardashian admits she’s bad at ‘saying no’ to her kids like the rest of us Raise your hand if you give into your kids more than you should. Oops. By Cassandra Stone August 11, 2021 Rectangle It’s basically one of the hallmarks of millennial parenting: we probably give in to our kids more than we should. And while it’s true that Kim Kardashian is obviously able to afford to give in to every whim of her four children, she knows she shouldn’t. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy for her to say no. Most of us parent under some version of “I want my kids to have better/more than what I had” because that’s been an underlying motivation for parents since the dawn of time. Even if we had great upbringings, at the very least you still want your children to have the same. So even though we might not have a ton of things in common with Kim Kardashian, having a weakness for our cute (and successfully manipulative, those little stinkers) children is one of them. data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-version=”4″ style=” background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% – 2px); width:calc(100% – 2px);”> Kardashian is mom to North, 8, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2 with her ex, Kanye Westâwhich means she has to find ways to say “no” to four separate and adorable individuals every single day. That’s hard to do! In a new interview with Parents magazine, she admits she needs to work on “being stricter and saying no” to each of them. “When my kids want something, typically candy, they give me this look directly in my eyes that cuts right through me,” she says. “I usually give in and give them what they want.” Excuse me, I feel personally attacked by this statement because this is me, every single day of my life. I’m someone who is extremely good at setting boundaries for myself both personally and professionally, but one look at my sweet little girls’ faces and I’m a total sap who just wants to give them candy for breakfast. Do I always give in? No, of course not. I can’t function in that type of chaos. But OMG is it hard not to just say yes! Especially, I’ve found, if you’re someone who had emotionally unavailable parents. (But that’s another story.) data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-version=”4″ style=” background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% – 2px); width:calc(100% – 2px);”> Kardashian says she’s good at being an emotionally stable force for her kids to lean on, though. And that counts for a lot, IMO. “I’m naturally very calm, which I think translates into my parenting,” she says. “I don’t get super stressed or impatient, which I think is definitely a superpower when you have three kids age 5 and under running around.” It definitely is! We love that she shared a relatable tidbit about parenting, and a lesson to boot.
