Home / News / Viral & Trending Dad goes viral for his amazing DIY closet renovation for his daughters dadsocial/TikTok "POV: You're a dad and this is how you built your daughters' dream closet." By Christina Marfice July 29, 2024 dadsocial/TikTok Rectangle I have a little bit of a shoe and bag problem. As a result of this problem, when I open the doors of my regretfully tiny bedroom closet, shoes and bags tend to come cascading down from the shelves where I’ve shoved them, stacked way too high to fit. One oregon dad of soon-to-be three daughters, Mason Smith, had a similar problem when he opened the closet in his girls’ bedroom, which he’s designed top-to-bottom with bunk beds, floral wallpaper, and other custom touches. The one area he hadn’t yet DIYed, though, was the closet. So in a now-viral TikTok video, Smith, who posts as @dadsocial, documented the process of taking that overflowing closet and redesigning it into a dream space for his girls. “POV: You’re a dad and this is how you built your daughters’ dream closet,” he wrote over the top of the video that showed him designing custom shelves with baskets for storage and a vanity area with a mirror where the girls can get dressed. @dadsocial I couldn’t do the whole room and leave the closet like that. Plus I had extra wallpaper, paint, and wood, so it didn’t cost much more just to finish out the room. It’s been so fun to see my daughters enjoying their bunkers, excited to go to bed to get to turn on their own little lights and tell stories. Can’t wait to see them use this little mini vanity set up on their closet. 💕 #closet #remodel #girldad #renovation ♬ original sound – 𝕃𝕪𝕣𝕚𝕔𝕤 “I couldn’t do the whole room and leave the closet like that. I want them to always know, though our attention is split, they are always our whole worlds. I can’t wait for all the memories that this room will bring our little girls in the years to come!” In the video’s comments, other parents gushed over the project, and how much Smith clearly caters to his little girls.
